Formed in 1993 to help organizations migrate from paper documents housed in metal file cabinets to electronic media stored in digital information systems, IAM has developed a large suite of knowledge management services and tools that ensure the preservation of institutional knowledge and information assets.

Alice Quintanilla is CEO of Information Assets Management, Inc., (IAM), a company headquartered in Los Alamos, New Mexico that provides highly secure knowledge management services and solutions to business and government.
A native of northern New Mexico and a graduate of the University of Colorado, Alice has been drawn to technology her entire life. In 1993, Alice co-founded IAM as a high-tech spin-off business from the Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL). While at LANL, Alice served as a Technical Staff Member in the Computing Division where she developed an IT solution that the Smithsonian Institution chose for an Advanced Technology award.
Alice has a strong desire to assume a leadership role to help develop New Mexico's high-tech economy. She chairs the New Mexico Advisory Board for Small Business Development Centers and provides advice and guidance for eighteen small business development centers in New Mexico. Alice also serves on Los Alamos National Laboratory Business Advisory Council (BAC), which is a group of community leaders that provides advice and recommendations to LANL; she chairs the BAC Procurement Advocacy Council. Alice serves on the New Mexico Information Technology and Software Association Board of Directors, and also on the Advisory Council of the Sandia National Laboratories Mentor/Protégé Program. Under the sponsorship of the Mentor/Protégé Program, IAM has mentored Digital Migration, Inc., a Native-American-owned high tech company.
In May 2003, President George W. Bush selected Alice to serve on the President's Information Technology Advisory Committee (PITAC). PITAC advises the President on how to maintain America's preeminence in advanced information technologies and it helps guide his efforts to accelerate the development and adoption of information technologies vital to the American economy in the 21st Century. Alice works on the PITAC Cyber Security Subcommittee.
